Residents of Sitabicha village, Bungoma County are in shock and disbelief after they woke up to an empty coffin yesterday. The coffin had been placed at the gate of a home whose owner lives in Nairobi. According to the homestead's caretaker Moses Soita, he woke up in the morning, only to be met by the sight of a freshly made coffin at the doorstep. "As I was opening the door, I saw a coffin at the gate, something that shocked me because I have never witnessed such an incident. I informed my neighbours, who trooped to the compound to witness the bizarre incident," said Mr Soita Soita added that he informed his employer as neighbours called the police and Assistant Chief Pius Wanyonyi. Mr Wanyonyi said such a shocking incident has never happened in the area and called for calm as police carried out investigations.
